Born in the suburbs and raised in the city, Jenelle Gaerlan is a young creative from Portland, Oregon. For 6 years she danced on scholarship with BodyVox’s Junior Artist Generators (JAG), and now graduated from high school, she dances for BodyVox Dance Company as a Junior Member. Through training with the high school program she has danced for Nike, taught and choreographed for JAG, and now takes part in her mentor Dar Vejon Jones’s new ensemble. Fascinated by the intersection between dance and media, Jenelle seeks to discover and amplify the connections between her dancing and visual art, as well as art as a whole and how it influences her life. Jenelle graduated from Jesuit High School’s class of 2019 and is taking a gap year to dance professionally with a marketing internship before attending university in the fall of 2020.
Javan Mngrezzo is a company dancer at Bodyvox, a local dance teacher, and certified instructor of The Ellové Technique®. His dance journey began during his first year of college at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. He graduated in three years, magna cum laude, with a B.S. in Dance and Sociology. Javan then toured nationally and internationally as a company member with Rainbow Dance Theatre and has had the privilege of performing as a guest artist for companies such as Warehouse Dance, Company Movimiento, and Agnieszka Laska Dancers. He is also honored to have performed original works by Leslie Watanabe, Vanessa Thiessen, Sara Parker, Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner, Darryl Thomas, and Tim Cowart to name a few. Javan has taught multiple dance disciplines at studios such as Bodyvox / Junior Artist Generator [J.A.G.], Laurelhurst Dance Studio, Multnomah Athletic Club, Northwest Dance Project, Montavilla Community Center, and the Salem Oregon YMCA - as well as instructing summer intensive curriculum at STEPS PDX and June Taylor School of Dance. Additional training includes summer intensives at Utah's inaugural Dance West Festival, PDX Contemporary Ballet, Bodyvox, and Polaris Dance Theatre. Javan is extremely grateful and over the moon to be performing in DJ's work!
Sara Parker is a Portland, OR dance artist. She holds an MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City (2015) where she was granted a Graduate Teaching Assistantship and was the recipient of the Dee Winterton Award (2015). Additionally, she holds a B.S. in Dance from the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR (2009).
Currently, Sara is a teaching artist at BodyVox Dance Inc. where she teaches her open Intermediate/Advanced level Contemporary Dance Lab and teaches and choreographs for the Junior Artist Generator (JAG) program. She additionally teaches at AWOL Dance collective, ChrysalisPDX, and Portland Community College.
Sara believes that dance is a radical act of liberating one’s body to more fully engage and connect with the deeper and more subtle layers of existence. Her recent creative work has been influenced by the esoteric anatomy and philosophical belief systems of yoga, as well as myth and ritual.
Her choreographic work has appeared at The Headwaters Theatre (OR), Portland Community College (OR), Lane Community College (OR), Portland State University (OR), The Hult Center (OR), Lincoln Performance Hall (OR), Conduit Dance Inc. (OR), Northwest Dance Project Studio and Performance Center (OR), Marriot Center for Dance (UT), Mudson (UT), and the Ladies Literary Club (UT), The Brunish (OR), On the Boards (WA) and Portland Center Stage at The Armory (OR).
Sara believes that dance is a powerful catalyst for personal and communal revolution and her aim is to make a positive impact through choreography, performance, and teaching.

Jake Gordon has lived his whole life in Scappoose, Oregon. He started dancing at the age of 9 with tap, quickly becoming his main form of entertainment. Jake began ballet in the summer of 2015 and trained under numerous instructors including Ikolo Griffin of the San Francisco Ballet. Jake has continued his dance training at BodyVox and Northwest Dance Project in Portland, OR, taking multiple classes per week while performing in smaller local performances around the Portland area. Jake joined Dar Vejon Jones Dance Ensemble in the summer of 2019 and is the first company he has been apart of.
Katherine Ammerman is a movement artist and teacher in the Portland area; she grew up in Prosser, WA where she trained in ballet for most of her life. During the summers of 2011-2015, while attending Whitman Summer Dance Lab, she discovered her love for contemporary movement and followed it to Portland in early 2016.
Katherine danced with Polaris Dance Theatre for two seasons, and then pursued a freelance career; she has performed in works by Alicia Cutaia, Kristalyn Gill, Barbara Lima, Faith Morrison, Beth Whelan, Trevor Wilde and Lucy Dillon. In earlier years, she has also performed in a project with KT Nelson of ODC/Dance, and Trey McIntyre's "Mercury Half Life", set by Anne Mueller.
Currently, she is also a company dancer with ELa FaLa Collective.
Katherine is a dance and Pilates instructor, and enjoys choreographing in her spare time; she presented her first work, "being/becoming"at Galaxy Dance Festival last year.

Jillian St. Germain
Jillian St.Germain was born & raised in Northern Michigan. She received her arts education on full scholarship at Interlochen Arts Academy. Along with her classical & contemporary dance training, Ms.St.Germain is a trained Circus Artist & BGirl. She trained Circus Arts in New York City with Ivo Gueorguiev (Cirque du Soleil) and Bboying with the NYC Tranzformerz Breakdance Crew. Professionally Jillian works as both a dancer and circus artist. She has had the opportunity to perform with such companies as Ballet NY, Urban Ballet Theatre, AntiGravity Entertainment, Ballet Theatre of Boston, Quixotic Fusion, Boston Ballet, AcroBack Productions, Aerial Artistry, NYC Tranzformerz Breakdance Crew, AcroArts Productions, & Rebecca Rice Dance amongst others. Currently Jillian is a company member with BodyVox in Portland,OR. Ms. St.Germain has experience in the tv/film industry as well, including as an aerialist/dancer on NBC’s final season of their Primetime TV Series ’Smash’ and in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show aired on CBS. She also starred in award winning Director & Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, Vincent LaForet’s short film ‘MōVI’. Ms.St.Germain is passionate about choreographing and creating shows in addition to performing. She is a Co-Founder of 3Names which was established in 2015, and has created everything from full length shows to event entertainment. Jillian looks forward to performing with Darvejon Jones Dance Ensemble this February!
Beginning with classical jazz, and soon expanding to a variety of styles
including tap, hip hop, and contemporary, Willow Swanson fell in love
with dance early on. Fascinated by other types of movement, as well as
how to apply them to dance, she has also trained in Kung Fu, Tai Chi,
Yoga, and Acrobatics, and rock climbs as another way to train. She has
collaborated with a number of Portland locals such as DarVejon Jones,
Alicia Cutaia, Jamuna Chiarini, Beth Whelan, and Amelia Unsicker, and
her performance experiences include dancing with Portland companies
Polaris Dance Theatre, Agneizska Laska Dancers, and Tongue Dance
Project, as well as the Vancouver-based company Horizon3 Dance. Credits
also include performing with Victoria Perez at the Young Choreographer's
Festival 2019 in New York City, showing and performing her own work at
Chapel Theatre earlier the same year, and several small film roles. She
currently teaches a diverse range of dance classes at studios across
Vancouver and Portland, and continues to work with dance companies and
independent artists on several projects, including live shows, film and
photography, and dance outreach.
